SERIOUS ANNOUNCES RE-LAUNCH OF HIT CD CARDZ COINCIDING WITH AUGUST DVD RELEASE OF THE LORD OF THE RINGS: THE TWO TOWERS™
New York, NY 20th May -- ‘Keep them coming!' is the response of trading card, movie and Tolkien fans, hungry for quality merchandise reflecting the rich visuals of the second movie in Peter Jackson's trilogy. With four trading card-sized CD Cardz based on the indigenous cultures of Middle-earth, Serious' digital collectibles explore the fantastical Lord of the Rings characters including Legolas (Orlando Bloom), Aragorn (Viggo Mortensen) and Frodo (Elijah Wood). Collect the Cardz for movie stills, behind-the-scenes imagery, trailers, soundtrack highlights, sound bites, Middle-earth information, exclusive screensavers, wallpapers and postcardz… woven within magical, sinister interactivity!
"Serious are delighted to be part of the impact that the Lord of the Rings movies are having on 21st century pop culture. Fans will enjoy the CD Cardz' feast for the senses, not only because of their tangible appeal and collectibility, but because of their prized content and visionary interactive design," said Kathy Heslop - Chief Licensing and Production Officer, Serious USA.
The magnetic power of the One Ring, is the navigational metaphor on the Cardz. As fans pilot their digital journey, the ring warps and attracts everything it touches. Passing through opulent Middle-earth worlds, mystical sound effects and sound bites highlight the transitions through the interactive screens and the sinister eye of the Dark Lord Sauron appears as a bad omen, evoking evil forces that are eclipsing Middle-earth.
The DVD release for The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers is set for August 26, 2003. The third and final installment of The Lord of the Rings trilogy, The Return of the King, premieres on December 17, 2003.
